Trainings and applications are an important aspect of Whitecoast City Railway. This is how players move up in rank. This page details all the trainings we currently have information on.
The times for trainings can be found here as well as on the WCR Discord server for applicable ranks.
Trained Driver Trainings[]
Trained Driver Training is the first training that can be done. As the name suggests, it upgrades your rank from Untrained Driver (UD) to Trained Driver (TD). Under normal circumstances, most or all of the trainers will be a Trained Driver Representative.
Process[]
Before the assessment[]
- A training server will open 10 minutes before a selected time. Once it is time, the server will lock and no other players can join. Trainees can join a server by clicking on the "training" button on the menu and clicking one of the boxes that is tinted green.
- Once the menu pops up, trainees must spawn as a passenger at Whitecoast Park and line up in front of the trainers. Failure to comply will result in the trainee getting kicked from the training session.
- Once 5 minutes have passed since the server has been locked, one of the trainers will greet the trainees and mute all trainees before the expectations of a Trained Driver are explained.
- After the rules have been explained, trainees will then be unmuted. This is where trainees can ask any questions. Trainees must only ask questions relevant to the training.
- Once it has been confirmed that there are no more relevant questions, the trainees will then be muted again and the trainers will select the trainees one-by-one via Roblox's private message feature.
Practical assessment[]
- The trainee will be asked to respawn as a driver, select a certain route, a train (any train can be selected) and then ask you drive to a selected station via the private message feature.
- Once the trainee has successfully spawned their train at the correct depot and route they must drive to the selected station, following all rules explained by the trainer.
- Once at the station, the trainee must stop at the correct stop marker. Upon arrival, the trainee must open the doors and remain at the station.
Theory[]
- The trainee will be asked 3 random questions relevant to the expectations of a Trained Driver. Trainees must not take too long or answer these question incorrectly or they will not pass.
- Should the trainee answer all three questions correctly and have arrived at the station following all rules and without any mistakes, the trainee has passed and will be ranked to Trained Driver once the training has ended. If the trainee has made any mistakes and/or answers any of the questions incorrectly or takes too long to answer them, they will not pass and will have to join another training.
Platform Staff Training[]
Platform Staff Training is what most Trained Drivers do after completing the Trained Driver training. As the name suggests, it upgrades your rank from Trained Driver (TD) to Platform Staff (PS). Under normal circumstances, most or all of the trainers will be a Platform Staff Representative.
Process[]
Before the assessment[]
- A training server will open 10 minutes before a selected time. Once it is time, the server will lock and no other players can join. Trainees can join a server by clicking on the "training" button on the menu and clicking one of the boxes that is tinted green.
- Once the menu pops up, trainees must spawn as a passenger at Whitecoast Park and line up in front of the the trainers. Failure to comply will result in the trainee getting kicked from the training session.
- Once 5 minutes have passed since the server has been locked, one of the trainers will greet the trainees and mute all trainees before the priorities of a Platform Staff are explained.
Demonstration[]
- After the priorities of a Platform Staff are explained, trainees are to spawn at a random station as a passenger and follow one of the trainers in the Platform Staff role to one of the platforms. Trainees must reach the platform without trespassing (this includes trackwalking.)
- A train will arrive for demonstration purposes. Trainees must not board, or jump on the train (aka Trainsurfing.) The dispatching procedures will be explained as one of the trainers dispatches the train. Please try not to crowd around the trainer.
- After the demonstration, trainees will then be asked to respawn at Whitecoast Park and line up in front of the trainers (as was asked at the start of the training.)
- Trainees will then be unmuted. This is where trainees can ask any questions. Trainees must only ask questions relevant to the training.
- Once it has been confirmed that there are no more relevant questions, the trainees will then be muted again and the trainers will select the trainees one-by-one via Roblox's private message feature.
Practical assessment[]
- The trainee will be asked to respawn as a Platform Staff, and spawn at a specified station.
- Once the trainee has successfully spawned at the specified station, they must go to the platform the train will be arriving at.
- The trainee must dispatch the train at the correct position and wait until the train has left the platform.
- If the trainee has dispatched the train correctly, the trainee will be asked to despawn and stay in the main menu.
Theory[]
- The trainee will be asked 3 random questions about the Platform Staff procedures. Trainees must not take too long or answer these question incorrectly or they will not pass.
- Should the trainee answer all three questions correctly, the trainee has passed and will be ranked to Platform Staff once the training has ended. If the trainee has made any mistakes and/or answers any of the questions incorrectly or takes too long to answer them, they will not pass and will have to join another training.
Applications[]
For ranks beyond Platform Staff, players must apply on Discord. This means users under 13 cannot apply. These applications are only open a few times per year.
